RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme)
Are you 50+ and would like to make a Difference in Your Community?
Why not volunteer as a RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme) Driver:
Volunteering is more than just an act of kindness; it is a way to connect with your community, support those in need, and enrich your own life. Volunteering for your local surgery is a unique opportunity that helps General Practitioners (GPs) and nurses, makes a significant difference to the lives of patients, and offers personal rewards for the volunteers themselves. If you enjoy meeting people and sharing your time, this could be the perfect role for you.
Many older patients face difficulties in getting to their health appointments. As a volunteer driver, you can help ensure they make it to their appointments safely and on time. This role involves picking up patients from their homes, driving them to the surgery, and taking them back home afterward. It is a vital service that helps maintain the continuity of care for these individuals.
Volunteering is a two-way street. While you are helping others, you also gain a sense of personal fulfilment. The gratitude and smiles from the patients you assist can be incredibly rewarding. Knowing that you have made a positive difference in someone’s life can boost your own mental and emotional well-being.
If you are interested in volunteering, please speak to the reception team who will give you an application pack and instructions on how to apply,
